SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Pemerintah Provinsi (Pemprov) Jakarta berencana membangun lumbung pangan (food estate) di Kepulauan Seribu pada 2025 mendatang. Penjabat (Pj) Gubernur Jakarta, Heru Budi Hartono menyebutkan, pembangunan ini dinilai dapat memberikan dampak positif untuk pendapatan asli daerah (PAD) dan memaksimalkan potensi sumber daya alam yang tersedia.

Selain itu, Heru juga menegaskan bahwa Pemprov Jakarta sudah mulai membicarakan rencana tersebut bersama Badan Perencanaan Pembangunan Nasional (Bappenas). Menurutnya, Kepulauan Seribu merupakan wilayah yang tepat karena kaya akan hasil laut seperti ikan, rumput laut, dan sebagainya, dibandingkan dengan wilayah pesisir dekat Jakarta yang tidak memungkinkan.

Sebelumnya, di rapat paripurna, Rabu (20/3), Heru telah menyampaikan hasil kajian Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional (BRIN) yang mengungkap jika lahan di Kepulauan Seribu cocok dipakai sebagai lumbung pangan bagi Jakarta mulai 2025.
