Gunung Ibu Kembali Erupsi, Luncurkan Lava Pijar Setinggi 300 Meter, Warga Diimbau Waspada

SEAToday.com, Ternate - Gunung Ibu di Kabupaten Halmahera Barat, Maluku Utara, kembali erupsi pada Sabtu (18/1) malam sekitar pukul 21.23 WIT, meluncurkan lava pijar setinggi 300 meter di atas puncak gunung.
“Kolom abu setinggi 700 meter teramati di atas puncak gunung saat erupsi,” ujar Axl Roeroe, Petugas Pos Pengamatan Gunung Api (PGA) Ibu, Minggu (19/1).
Kolom abu vulkanik berwarna putih hingga kelabu dengan intensitas tebal mengarah ke barat daya. Aktivitas ini terekam di seismogram dengan amplitudo maksimum 14 mm dan durasi 46 detik. Suara gemuruh akibat erupsi terdengar hingga Pos PGA Ibu di Desa Gam Ici.
Gunung Ibu telah menunjukkan aktivitas erupsi secara berkala dalam beberapa bulan terakhir. Pemerintah Kabupaten Halmahera Barat (Halbar), Maluku Utara (Malut) menetapkan status tanggap darurat bencana erupsi Gunung Ibu selama 14 hari, terhitung sejak 15 hingga 28 Januari 2025, usai status gunung menjadi Awas, status tertinggi dalam sistem peringatan gunung berapi.
Masyarakat serta pengunjung dilarang beraktivitas dalam radius 5 kilometer dari puncak gunung dan hingga 6 kilometer ke arah bukaan kawah di bagian utara. Selain itu, warga yang berada di luar rumah disarankan menggunakan masker dan kacamata untuk melindungi diri dari paparan abu vulkanik saat terjadi hujan abu.
Pihak Pos PGA Ibu juga mengimbau masyarakat untuk tetap tenang, tidak menyebarkan informasi hoaks, dan tidak mudah terpancing isu yang tidak jelas sumbernya. “Ikuti arahan pemerintah daerah dan selalu perbarui informasi langsung dari Pusat Vulkanologi dan Mitigasi Bencana Geologi atau Pos PGA Ibu di Desa Gam Ici,” tegas Axl.
Pemerintah Kabupaten Halmahera Barat terus berkoordinasi dengan Pusat Vulkanologi dan Mitigasi Bencana Geologi untuk memastikan kesiapsiagaan dan mitigasi yang optimal dalam menghadapi potensi ancaman dari aktivitas Gunung Ibu.
