Parlemen Turki Menyetujui Keanggotaan NATO Swedia Setelah Penundaan 20 Bulan
SEAToday.com, Ankara - Parlemen Turki telah menyetujui rancangan undang-undang (RUU) protokol keanggotaan Swedia di NATO pada hari Selasa (23/1), yang membawa Swedia selangkah lebih dekat untuk bergabung dengan aliansi militer tersebut.
Pemungutan suara dilakukan setelah perdebatan selama empat jam, dengan hasil 287-55 suara, dan empat abstain. Presiden Turki Recep Tayyip Erdogan diperkirakan akan menandatangani RUU tersebut menjadi undang-undang dalam beberapa hari mendatang. Dengan ratifikasi dari Turki ini, Hungaria adalah satu-satunya anggota yang belum meratifikasi aksesi Swedia.
Sementara itu, Perdana Menteri Hongaria Viktor Orban mengatakan bahwa ia telah mengundang Perdana Menteri Swedia, Ulf Kristersson, untuk mengunjungi Hungaria untuk menegosiasikan persyaratan aksesi Swedia.
Finlandia dan Swedia, merupakan dua negara Nordik yang dekat atau berbatasan dengan Rusia. Kedua negara mengajukan permohonan menjadi anggota NATO segera setelah konflik Rusia dan Ukraina pada Februari 2022. Finlandia telah resmi bergabung NATO pada April 2023.
