Varian Baru Ditemukan: Kasus COVID-19 di Singapura Meningkat 75 Persen.
SEAToday.com, Singapura - Kasus COVID-19 di Singapura meningkat 75 persen dibanding minggu sebelumnya. Kementerian Kesehatan (Kemenkes) Singapura, Jumat (15/12) mencatat, terdapat 56 ribu kasus pada periode 3-9 Desember, meningkat 24 ribu kasus dibanding minggu sebelumnya yang tercatat 32 ribu kasus.
Disamping itu, angka infeksi harian yang dirawat inap karena virus SARS-CoV-2 turut mengalami peningkatan, dari 225 menjadi 350. Begitu pun rata-rata pasien dengan kebutuhan perawatan intensif, meningkat dari empat menjadi sembilan orang. Sebagian besar kasus terinfeksi oleh varian JN.1, subgenerasi dari BA.2.86.
Kemenkes Singapura mengatakan, pihaknya telah bekerja sama dengan rumah sakit umum untuk melakukan perencanaan darurat, seperti memastikan kecukupan tenaga kerja dan menunda operasi elektif yang tidak mendesak guna memaksimalkan kapasitas tempat tidur untuk kasus-kasus mendesak yang memerlukan perawatan akut.
