10 Thai Nationals That Was Held Hostages were Released From Gaza by Hamas

SEAToday.com, Gaza-As the four-day ceasefire between Hamas and Israel began on Friday (24/11), Ten Thai nationals, who had been held hostage since the October 7 attack were also released by Hamas.The ten hostages were released from Gaza and safely entered Israel through the Rafah crossing border on Friday as the ceasefire began.

According to the Thai embassy in Tel Aviv, the hostages were taken to the Shamir Medical Center where they will be treated and monitored for the next two days.

The embassy also reported that among the released hostages were the only female hostages known to have been kidnapped as well as four other Thai nationals who had never been confirmed missing by the Israeli authorities.

In a statement released on Friday (24/11), the Thai foreign ministry expressed gratitude to the governments of Qatar, Israel, Egypt, Malaysia, and the International Committee of the Red Cross for their assistance in negotiating the release of the hostages.

Previously, earlier reports indicated that twelve Thai hostages had been released. But this number was later revised to ten.

With the release of the first batch of hostages, the Thai government vowed on Friday (24/11) to continue to negotiate the release of at least twenty Thai citizens who remain in captivity.
