Thai Police Confiscates 84 Million Baht Worth of Fake Animal Medicine

SEAToday.com, Bangkok – Thai's Vice-minister for Public Health, Thanakit Jitareerat said on Tuesday (6/17) that authorities seized more than 200 thousand illegal items that were worth 84.84 million baht.

The illegal items were found at four different places in two provinces, in Nakhon Pathom where they searched three locations, and one warehouse in Samut Sakhon province.

Three of the locations in Nakhon Pathom were used to illegally produce the medications, and police seized more than 100 falsely packaged of unregistered animal drugs.

In Samut Sakhon, police raided a warehouse in Muang district and seized 6-thousand and 270 packs of illegal animal drugs/ worth about 4.8 million baht.

According to Police Lieutenant Colonel, Kankanit, Chinese nationals run this criminal network, since the fake drugs were imported from China and sold to customers in Thailand.

After around four months of operation, this specific business had sold roughly 500 boxes of animal medications each month, for a total estimated value of 300 thousand baht.
