SEAToday.com, Singapore-Singapore Airlines has decided to change its turbulence measure. The new measures are a part of a "more cautious approach" to controlling turbulence in flight, amid the SQ321 turbulence incident.

Other than suspending the serving of hot beverages, on May 23, Singapore Airlines has also decided to stop serving meals if the airplane seat belt sign is turned on.

Additionally, CNA reported that Singapore Airline stated that the new measure is a component of a "more cautious approach" to managing turbulence in-flight, following the events on flight SQ321.

Moreover, cabin crew will continue securing all loose items and equipment in the cabin in poor weather condition. Cabin crew will also return to their seats when the seat belt sign is turned on.

Previously, the SQ321 flight was forced to divert to Bangkok on Tuesday (5/21) due to abrupt and severe turbulence over Myanmar. One passenger killed, while several passengers sustained brain and spinal cord injuries, with six in critical condition.
