Menkominfo: Starlink milik Elon Musk akan Uji Coba di IKN Mulai Bulan Mei
SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Menteri Komunikasi dan Informatika (Menkominfo) Budi Arie Setiadi mengabarkan jika layanan internet berbasis satelit Starlink milik Elon Musk akan melakukan Uji Laik Operasi (ULO) di Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN) pada Mei mendatang.
"Uji coba dilakukan di IKN karena di sana minim infrastruktur telekomunikasi. Jadi kita bisa mendapatkan gambaran yang akurat tentang efektivitas dan keandalan layanan," jelas Budi, Selasa (16/4).
Jika ULO Starlink berhasil dan perusahaan telah memenuhi berbagai persyaratan, maka tidak menutup kemungkinan layanan Starlink akan diluncurkan saat perayaan HUT Kemerdekaan RI pada Agustus tahun ini di IKN.
Sebelumnya, Direktur Jenderal Penyelenggaraan Pos dan Informatika (Dirjen PPI) Kemenkominfo Wayan Tony Supriyanto mengungkapkan bahwa Starlink telah mengajukan izin untuk beroperasi di Indonesia. Izin tersebut meliputi penggunaan teknologi VSAT dan izin sebagai penyedia telekomunikasi atau Internet Service Provider (ISP).
