Jakarta Election Commission Recommends Transfer Voters Arrive at Polling Stations by 11 A.M Local Time
SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The Jakarta Election Commission (KPU Jakarta) has advised voters who have processed their transfer to a different polling location for the Jakarta Regional Head Election to visit polling stations (TPS) between 11 AM and 1 PM local time.
"It is recommended that transfer voters arrive between 11 AM and 1 PM, except in urgent situations where they may vote earlier," said Fahmi Zikrillah, Head of the Data and Information Division at KPU Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA.
This recommendation aims to prevent long queues when casting votes at the polling stations.
Fahmi also reminded voters who have transferred their polling location to bring their transfer voting Form A and their electronic ID card (e-KTP) when they arrive at the polling station.
Only voters with a Jakarta e-KTP are eligible to transfer their voting location to Jakarta. Residents without a Jakarta e-KTP cannot vote in Jakarta.
KPU Jakarta recorded that 9,219 Jakarta residents have processed a transfer of their polling location for the 2024 Regional Heads Elections.
The most common reason for transferring polling locations is due to work assignments in other areas on voting day, accounting for 4,339 voters. The next most common reason is a change of residence, with 3,188 voters citing this reason.
