Sara Duterte: Philippine VP Who Hired Hitman to Target President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
SEAToday.com, Manila - Sara Duterte is the Vice President of the Philippines who allegedly planned to assassinate Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., also known as Bongbong. The conflict between the President and Vice President has reportedly escalated to the point of murder rumors.
This was revealed after Sara allegedly communicated with a hitman. During their conversation, Sara hired the assassin to kill Marcos. Not only Marcos, but his wife, Liza Araneta, and the Head of the Philippine House of Representative, Martin Romualdez, were also named as targets.
“I have spoken to someone. I said, if I get killed, kill Marcos, Liza, and Martin. This is no joke,” Sara recently said. Her remarks have significantly heightened the political tension in the Philippines.
The assassin reportedly agreed to carry out Sara's request to eliminate these three prominent figures in the Philippines. A month ago, Sara also threatened to behead Marcos. But who exactly is Sara Duterte?
Sara initially gained recognition as a lawyer. However, her interest in politics led her to leave her legal profession. Her father, Rodrigo Duterte, the former President of the Philippines, had a significant influence on her life.
Sara began her political career as Vice Mayor from 2007 to 2010. She later ran for Mayor and was elected, serving from 2010 to 2013 and 2016 to 2022. She became the first female mayor of Davao City. Her political journey was successful, leading her to a role in the national government.
After serving in the Cabinet, Sara decided to run as a Vice Presidential candidate in the elections, teaming up with Marcos. Their ticket garnered significant votes, as both are children of former Philippine presidents.
Despite her high electability and popularity in several surveys, Sara chose to run for Vice President instead of President. Her father and supporters had hoped she would run for the presidency, but she stepped back to take the Vice Presidential role.
