ICJ Rules Israel Must Take All Measures to Prevent Genocide in Gaza
SEAToday.com, Gaza - In a verdict hearing that took place on Friday (1/26) in The Hague, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) ruled that Israel must take all measures to prevent genocide in the Gaza Strip and prevent and punish incitement to genocide.
The court also ruled that Palestinians in Gaza have the right to be protected and has jurisdiction over the case.
In addition, the UN High Court also asked Israel to allow humanitarian aid into the Gaza strip and demanded Israel to report for one month on what they are doing to uphold the court's decision.
The ICJ did not order a ceasefire, but granted the emergency measures demanded by South Africa.
Previously, South Africa filed a lawsuit against Israel at the International Court of Justice for genocide in Gaza on December 29.
