Govt. Ensures Civil Servant Salary Increases Starting This Year

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Special Staff of the Minister of Finance, Yustinus Prastowo, confirmed that the salaries of civil servants (PNS), members of the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI), Police and retirees will increase starting Monday (1/1).

"As previously stated by President Jokowi, the salary increase in 2024 for civil servants/members of the TNI, Police, Pensioners, and Veterans, PPPK benefits will take effect on January 1, 2024," Prastowo said in a post on his official X account on Monday (1/1).

Currently, the government is preparing several regulations to accommodate the planned salary increase. Later, salary adjustments will be given after the rules are completed simultaneously or recapitulated.

Previously, the plan to increase salaries for civil servants and retirees was conveyed by President Joko Widodo in his speech on the draft state budget and financial memorandum for 2024 at the DPR building on Wednesday (8/16). Civil servants' salaries will increase by eight percent, while retirement benefits will increase by 12 percent.
