SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Kementerian Luar Negeri RI mengatakan bahwa tidak ada warga negara Indonesia (WNI) yang menjadi korban gempa magnitudo 7,3 yang mengguncang Vanuatu pada Selasa, 17 Desember 2024 pukul 12.51 siang waktu setempat.
"Hingga saat ini tidak ada informasi WNI yang menjadi korban gempa (di Vanuatu)," kata Direktur Perlindungan WNI dan BHI Kemenlu RI Judha pada Rabu, 18 Desember 2024, dilansir Antara.
Judha mengatakan Kedutaan Besar Republik Indonesia (KBRI) di Canberra, yang memiliki akreditasi di Vanuatu, telah berkoordinasi dengan otoritas Vanuatu dan berkomunikasi dengan masyarakat Indonesia yang berada di sana.
KBRI Canberra mencatat terdapat 48 WNI yang berada di Vanuatu, yang mayoritas bekerja sebagai awak kapal. Judha menuturkan bahwa Kemlu RI dan KBRI Canberra akan terus memonitor dampak yang ditimbulkan akibat gempa di Vanuatu.
Menurut otoritas Vanuatu, kerusakan terparah akibat gempa terjadi di Ibu Kota Port Vila dan hingga saat ini, Rabu, 18 Desember 2024, terdapat 14 korban jiwa dan lebih dari 200 korban luka.
