BRIN Kembangkan Teknologi Penerjemah Bahasa Isyarat Indonesia Berbasis Video
SEAToday.com, Badung - Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional (BRIN) tengah mengembangkan teknologi penerjemah Bahasa Isyarat Indonesia (Bisindo) berbasis analisis data video.
Artikel yang dirilis BRIN, Senin (21/10) menyebut bahwa riset ini berfokus untuk mengatasi tantangan interaksi komunikasi antara teman tuli dan masyarakat yang tidak memahami bahasa isyarat. Perekayasa Ahli Muda Pusat Riset Kecerdasan Artifisial dan Keamanan Siber BRIN Edy Maryadi menjelaskan bahwa sistem ini dirancang untuk menerjemahkan gerakan bahasa isyarat menjadi teks atau audio.
Ia menambahkan bahwa penelitian ini memanfaatkan teknologi komputer visi dan kecerdasan buatan (artificial intelligence/AI) yang dilatih untuk mengenali dan menerjemahkan gerakan bahasa isyarat.
Sistem ini nantinya akan diimplementasikan dalam bentuk aplikasi mobile dan berbasis web.
