"No Other Land", Film Tentang Perjuangan Warga Palestina Menangkan Film Dokumenter Terbaik di Berlinale
SEAToday.com, Berlin - "No Other Land", sebuah film dokumenter tentang perjuangan warga Palestina melawan kekerasan pendukukan Israel di Tepi Barat, memenangkan penghargaan Dokumenter Terbaik di Festival Film Berlin 2024.
Film ini disutradarai bersama oleh aktivis Palestina Basel Adra dan jurnalis Israel Yuval Abraham. Adra, dalam pidato penerimaan penghargaan pada Sabtu (24/2), mendesak Jerman untuk “menghormati seruan PBB dan menghentikan pengiriman senjata ke Israel." Rekan sutradaranya, Abraham, juga menyerukan agar ketidaksetaraan ini diakhiri.
Film ini menampilkan seorang pengacara dan aktivis muda Palestina Basel Adra dari Tepi Barat, yang telah berjuang melawan pengusiran massal terhadap komunitasnya oleh pendudukan Israel sejak kecil. Ia mendokumentasikan bagaimana pemerintah Israel secara bertahap menghancurkan komunitasnya. Pada suatu ketika, ia bertemu dengan seorang jurnalis Israel, Yuval, yang mendukungnya dalam upayanya, dan kemudian aliansi yang tidak terduga pun terbentuk.
Selain Dokumenter Terbaik, "No Other Land" juga sebelumnya memenangkan penghargaan Berlinale’s Panorama Audience.
