BMKG: Waspada Gelombang Tinggi 2,5 Meter di Perairan Aceh & Sumut

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Badan Meteorologi Klimatologi dan Geofisika (BMKG) mengingatkan potensi gelombang tinggi yang mencapai 1,25 hingga 2,5 meter di perairan Aceh dan Sumatera Utara (Sumut).

Prakirawan Stasiun Meteorologi Maritim Belawan Dasmian Sulviani mengatakan sejumlah wilayah perairan di Aceh dan Sumatera Utara berpotensi mengalami gelombang tinggi yang dapat mencapai 1,25 hingga 2,5 meter dalam beberapa hari ke depan.

Sementara, pola angin di perairan Sumatera bagian utara umumnya bertiup dari timur laut hingga selatan dengan kecepatan 2-25 knot.

Kondisi ini pun harus diwaspadai lantaran dapat mengganggu pelayaran. Tidak hanya itu, masyarakat yang tinggal di pesisir juga harus waspada terhadap gelombang tinggi tersebut.

Secara umum, gelombang di perairan Aceh dan Sumatera Utara dalam beberapa hari ke depan terbagi dalam dua kategori yakni kategori sedang (1,25 - 2,5 meter) dan rendah (0,5 - 1,25 meter).

Gelombang dengan kategori sedang berpotensi terjadi di di perairan utara Sabang, Selat Malaka bagian utara, Perairan Sabang - Banda Aceh, Perairan Lhokseumawe, perairan barat Aceh, Samudera Hindia barat Aceh, dan Samudera Hindia barat Nias.

Sedangkan gelombang kategori rendah berpotensi terjadi di Selat Malaka bagian tengah, Perairan Meulaboh - Sinabang, dan di Perairan Nias - Sibolga.

"Gelombang maksimum dapat mencapai dua kali tinggi gelombang yang diperkirakan," katanya.
