BNPB Peringatkan Pulau Jawa Siaga Bencana hingga Awal 2025

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Badan Nasional Penanggulangan Bencana (BNPB) mengingatkan untuk masih tetap bersiaga terhadap potensi bencana alam di seluruh daerah di Pulau Jawa.
Potensi bencana alam ini dapat timbul akibat peningkatan intesitas hujan hingga awal Januari 2025.
“Kondisi tersebut dikarenakan yang terjadi saat ini masih awal, puncaknya akan berlangsung awal 2025 sebagaimana prakiraan dari Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi dan Geofisika (BMKG),” kata Kepala Pusat Data, Informasi dan Komunikasi Kebencanaan BNPB Abdul Muhari, Senin (9/12), dilansir Antara.
Saat ini, Pulau Jawa dan 60 persen zona musim di Indonesia lainnya, diketahui dari analisa BMKG sudah berada pada musim penghujan dan puncaknya berlangsung hingga kuartal pertama 2025.
Di rentang waktu tersebut, BMKG melaporkan kalau hujan meningkat sebesar 20 persen dibandingkan kondisi normal.
Hal ini karena dipengaruhi oleh sejumlah fenomena atmosfer seperti Madden Julian Osciliation (MJO), gelombang ekuatorial Rossby, gelombang Kelvin, La Nina lemah dan dapat diperkuat dengan adanya siklon tropis atau bibit siklon tropis.
Ini membuat peringatan tersebut harus diperhatikan dengan saksama oleh masyarakat dan juga pemerintah daerah untuk menimalisasi dampak buruk yang akan ditimbulkan.
Sementara itu, terdapat beberapa cara yang bisa dilakukan dalam peningkatan kesiapsiagaan tersebut yakni mengintensifkan pengecekan pada kawasan aliran sungai, perbukitan, tebing curam, mempersiapkan peralatan, anggaran dan termasuk menetapkan status tanggap darurat bencana.
“Kalau daerah sudah langganan bencana segeralah menetapkan status tanggap darurat sehingga pemerintah pusat dalam hal ini BNPB bisa memberi pendampingan kepada daerah,” ujar Abdul.
Berdasarkan data rekapitulasi BNPB banjir dan tanah longsor mendominasi kejadian bencana pada sejumlah daerah di Pulau Jawa dari 2-9 Desember 2024. Masing-masing Kabupaten Pandeglang, Lebak, Serang, Cianjur, Sukabumi, Kabupaten Bogor, Pasuruan, Sumenep, Malang, Bandung Barat, dan Cilacap.
