Israeli PM Seeks US Support for Potential Strike on Iranian Nuclear Facilities

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has pledged that Israel may launch airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites within the next few months.
While Trump has expressed a preference for a deal with Tehran. He has also indicated the possibility of military action if negotiations fail, setting a strict demand for Iran to abandon its entire nuclear program.
“All options are on the table,” the US national security adviser, Michael Waltz, told Fox News on Sunday, as quoted on The Guardian.
Earlier, Trump had offered a deal to the Iranian regime.
“I would like a deal done with Iran on non-nuclear (terms),” he told the New York Post, as quoted on The Guardian. “I would prefer that to bombing the hell out of it.”
Netanyahu, who has long urged US involvement in military action against Iran, is now trying to persuade Trump to carry out joint strikes while Iran's nuclear capabilities remain vulnerable.
Israel’s airstrikes and operations against Iran and its allies, particularly Hezbollah, have significantly weakened Iran's military position.
Netanyahu, alongside US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, emphasized that with Trump's support, Israel could decisively defeat Iran's "terror axis."
However, US intelligence had warned that striking Iranian nuclear sites would only delay Iran's nuclear progress and could prompt Tehran to accelerate its weapons development.
As diplomatic options narrow, the US-Israel alliance confronts a pivotal challenge amidst the escalating push for military intervention.
