World Health Organization Expresses Concern Regarding U.S. Withdrawal Announcement
US President, Donald Trump. (ANTARA)

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The World Health Organization (WHO) has expressed disappointment over the United States' decision to withdraw, emphasizing the importance of their longstanding partnership in improving global health.

Since 1948, the U.S. has played a key role in shaping WHO’s efforts to address health crises, disease prevention, and strengthen health systems worldwide.

Over the years, the collaboration between WHO and the U.S. has led to major achievements such as the eradication of smallpox and the near-elimination of polio.

In recent years, the U.S. and other WHO member states have contributed to the largest set of reforms in the organization’s history, aimed at enhancing accountability, cost-effectiveness, and impact. These efforts continue today.

WHO remains hopeful that the United States will reconsider its decision and is committed to maintaining a constructive dialogue.

The organization looks forward to continuing its partnership with the U.S. to address global health challenges and improve the well-being of people around the world.
