Prabowo Subianto Temui Sultan Ibrahim di Malaysia, Keduanya Bersahabat Selama 40 Tahun
SEAToday.com, Kuala Lumpur – Menteri Pertahanan Republik Indonesia (RI) dan presiden terpilih Prabowo Subianto pada Sabtu (7/9) tiba di Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. Prabowo langsung bertemu dengan Raja Malaysia Yang Maha Mulia Seri Paduka Baginda Yang Di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim.
Ternyata Prabowo dan Sultan Ibrahim sudah bersahabat selama 40 tahun. Keduanya berkenalan saat sama-sama menempuh pendidikan militer di Fort Bragg, Amerika Serikat.
Bertemu dengan sahabat lamanya, Prabowo mengajak Sultan Ibrahim bertukar pikiran dan saling membahas gagasan untuk kemajuan Indonesia dan Malaysia, termasuk kerja sama dua negara di ASEAN tersebut.
“Saya menghargai hubungan kuat antara kedua negara kita dan akan terus berusaha meningkatkan kerja sama, terutama dalam bidang pertahanan,” papar Prabowo dalam keterangan tertulisnya.
Prabowo memiliki harapan agar kerja sama Indonesia dan Malaysia terus berjalan demi kepentingan bersama. Prabowo dan Sultan Ibrahim juga ingin kerja sama Indonesia dan Malaysia akan dilakukan saat pertemuan General Border Committee (GBC) Malindo ke-44 yang akan diselenggarakan.
Sebelum kunjungi Malaysia, Prabowo diketahui sudah melakukan kunjungan di empat negara ASEAN yakni Brunei Darussalam, Laos, dan Kamboja. Serta sempat ke Thailand melakukan kunjungan pribadi bertemu eks Perdana Menteri Thailand Thaksin Shinawatra dan PM Thailand yang baru, Paetongtarn Shinawatra.
