Iranian President Confirmed Dead in Helicopter Crash

SEAToday.com, Iran - Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi was confirmed dead Monday (5/20) after a helicopter carrying him crashed. This news was delivered by Iranian Vice President Mohsen Mansouri.

The helicopter carried eight other people, among them is Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian. Everyone on board did not survive the crash.

The helicopter made a “hard landing” on Sunday (5/19) after problems amid heavy fog.

Although it was difficult to reach the crash site due to heavy fog, the rescue team managed to reach the site. Cited from Iranian media Tasnim, Iranian Red Crescent Head Pir-Hossein Kolivand said the crash took place near Tavil Village in East Azerbaijan Province.
