Visits to Nusantara Capital Now Free, IKN Authority Calls for Paid Tour Packages to End
SEAToday.com, Nusantara – The Nusantara Capital Authority (IKN) has spoken out against the rising trend of paid tour packages for visits to the Government Center Core Area (KIPP) in IKN, urging those involved in commercializing public access to cease these activities immediately.
The IKN Authority is keen to clarify that visits to KIPP are entirely free for the public. “Visiting KIPP at IKN incurs no charges. Everyone can explore IKN without needing to go through intermediaries,” stated Troy Pantouw, the Special Staff to the Head of the IKN Authority for Public Communication and the Authority's spokesperson, as reported on the IKN website.
Troy emphasized that the IKN Authority does not endorse any paid visit packages to KIPP. “We urge an immediate halt to practices where individuals offer paid tours to KIPP at IKN. The Capital City of the Archipelago belongs to all Indonesians and is envisioned as a global city for everyone. It is essential not to exploit this opportunity,” he remarked.
He added, “Currently, there is substantial construction underway, with heavy machinery and workers active in various locations. Road adjustments are also being made, necessitating clear visitation rules, particularly within the Central Government Core Area, to ensure comfort, safety, and order for all.”
The IKN Authority encourages those planning to visit KIPP to adhere to the established visitation protocols by registering through the IKNOW application. This measure is designed to enhance visitor comfort and safety while ensuring an enjoyable experience at IKN.
Alimuddin, the Deputy for Social, Culture, and Community Empowerment of the IKN Authority, recently encountered unauthorized offers for paid tour packages during an inspection, highlighting that these promotions are unlicensed and lack awareness from the IKN Authority or any government bodies. There have even been instances of flyers advertising paid tours circulating in public spaces.
“This is unacceptable. We request that those disseminating information about paid tours to locations like the Plaza Seremoni and Taman Kusuma Bangsa cease their activities immediately, as they mislead the public and exploit the situation for personal gain,” Alimuddin stated.
He continued, “A visit to IKN should be a proud, historic experience that fosters a strong sense of nationalism, particularly among the youth and future generations. It is vital to keep this experience free from the tarnish of unauthorized financial exploitation.”
Troy Pantouw reminded the public that they can witness the progress of KIPP construction by following the appropriate visitation guidelines. “Visitors are welcome every day from 09:00 to 17:00 WITA, but must first register via the IKNOW application,” he said.
During their visit, guests will have access to the West Axis Ceremonial Plaza and Taman Kusuma Bangsa Nusantara via an Electric Vehicle (EV) Bus provided at the IKN Rest Area, accompanied by Liaison Officers (LO).
In terms of transportation, Troy urged the public not to enter the KIPP area using private or public vehicles without prior written permission from the IKN Authority and the IKN Infrastructure Development Implementation Task Force from the Ministry of PUPR.
For detailed visitation guidelines, the public can download the IKNOW application from the App Store (iOS) https://ikn.go.id/IKNOW-IOS or Google Play (Android) https://ikn.go.id/IKNOW-ANDROID. If users experience issues with the application or have complaints, they can contact IKNOW support at 0821-4437-6300.
Additionally, visitors can access the visit guide https://ikn.go.id/PedomanKunjunganNusantara
Troy concluded with gratitude, stating, “We extend our sincere appreciation to the local government, police forces, community leaders, and especially our media partners for their unwavering support in promoting community visits to KIPP IKN.”
