Health Minister Launches SatuDNA as Genomics-Based Health Data Bank
SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin launched the SatuDNA portal as a follow-up to the Biomedical and Genome Science Initiative (BGSi) program, Thursday (9/12).
“So, in the future, from 280 million people, Indonesia will have demographic, clinical, and genomic data that provides various opportunities and is useful in big data analysis,” said the Health Minister.
According to him, this genomic information will be very useful in assisting the accuracy of diagnosis and treatment in the future and will be undertaken by ten vertical hospitals focusing on ten major diseases. These include cancer, metabolic diseases, infections, neurodegenerative, cardiovascular, elderly health, beauty and wellness, mental health, maternal and child health, and rare diseases.
To become a participant, the public can access pharmacogenomic testing services for free through the SatuDNA feature in the SATUSEHAT Mobile app.
