Govt. to Relocate 301 Families Affected by Mt. Ruang Eruption

SEAToday.com, Sitaro Islands - The government plans to relocate 301 families affected by the Mount Ruang eruption in Sitaro Islands Regency, North Sulawesi.

This was conveyed by the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy, Thursday (5/2).

“For areas in the Mount Ruang eruption area, the 301 families who will be relocated are planned to be handled by the PUPR Ministry. And small relocations will be handled by BNPB,” said the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture.

Furthermore, BNPB will collect data “by name by address” in the affected area. Once there is certainty that the land is safe from disasters, BNPB together with the local government will carry out rehabilitation and reconstruction through repairs, or if relocation is necessary. This is expected to reduce the anxiety of disaster victims in locations around Mount Ruang.
