Pin Merah dan Seruan Gencatan Senjata di Gaza Menggema di Gelaran Oscar 2024

SEAToday.com, Los Angeles-Para pesohor dunia, termasuk musisi Billie Eilish dan Finneas O'Connell, bintang film "Poor Things" Mark Ruffalo, dan komedian Ramy Youssef, mengenakan pin merah di Academy Awards ke-96 untuk menyerukan gencatan senjata di Gaza. Lantas, apa makna di balik pin tersebut? Dilansir dari Al Jazeera, pin merah tersebut didistribusikan oleh Artists4Ceasefire.
Ini adalah kelompok selebritas dan anggota industri hiburan yang secara kolektif menandatangani sebuah surat pada akhir bulan Oktober lalu, meminta Presiden Amerika Serikat Joe Biden untuk menyerukan gencatan senjata dan pembebasan tawanan di Gaza. Desain pin itu menunjukkan sebuah lingkaran merah mengkilap dengan sebuah tangan dan hati berwarna hitam.
"Pin ini melambangkan dukungan kolektif untuk gencatan senjata yang segera dan permanen, pembebasan semua tawanan dan pengiriman bantuan kemanusiaan yang mendesak untuk warga sipil di Gaza," jelas Artists4Ceasefire dalam sebuah siaran pers.
"Belas kasih harus diutamakan," tambahnya. Ada lebih dari 380 selebriti yang menandatangani surat tersebut, termasuk Cate Blanchett, Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez dan Bradley Cooper.
"Kami meminta gencatan senjata segera dan permanen di Gaza," kata aktor dan komedian Ramy Youssef kepada media AS. "Kami meminta keadilan dan perdamaian bagi rakyat Palestina dan juga pesan yang sangat universal, yaitu hentikan pembunuhan terhadap anak-anak," tambahnya.
Sebelum acara pada Minggu, pin merah terlihat di Grammy dan Directors Guild of America (DGA) Awards pada Februari 2024. Pada saat itu, Ruffalo juga terlihat mengenakan pin tersebut. (PUTU/DKD)
