SEAToday.com, Caracas - Ribuan pengunjuk rasa turun ke jalan di berbagai Kota Venezuela, termasuk ibukota Caracas, Senin (29/7) menyusul hasil resmi pemilihan presiden menyatakan Nicolás Maduro sebagai pemenang. 

Maduro menganggap hasil tersebut sebagai hal yang sudah pasti. Namun kandidat oposisi Edmundo González menyatakan telah mendapatkan lebih dari 70 persen lembar penghitungan suara yang menunjukkan bahwa González unggul atas Maduro. 

“Kami memiliki lembar penghitungan yang menunjukkan kemenangan kategoris kami yang tidak dapat diubah secara matematis,” katanya.

Dewan Pemilihan Nasional mengatakan bahwa González meraih 44 persen suara sementara Maduro mendapatkan 51 persen suara, memberikan Maduro masa jabatan enam tahun ini untuk ketiga kalinya. Namun, badan pemilu tidak merilis hasil penghitungan, menjanjikan akan melakukannya dalam “beberapa jam mendatang”, sehingga menghambat kemampuan untuk memverifikasi hasilnya.

Sejumlah pemerintah asing, termasuk AS dan Uni Eropa, menunda mengakui hasil pemilu. Juru bicara Sekretaris Jenderal PBB António Guterres juga mengatakan bahwa kepala PBB menyerukan “transparansi penuh” terkait hasil pemilu.
