Bandara Bali akan Tingkatkan Kapasitas Hingga 32 Juta Penumpang
SEAToday.com, Denpasar - Bandara Internasional I Gusti Ngurah Rai, Bali, tengah menggarap proyek optimalisasi bandara demi meningkatkan kapasitasnya menjadi 32 juta penumpang.
General Manager Bandara Handy Heryudhitiawan, Senin (15/7) menyebutkan optimalisasi ini dilakukan untuk mengantisipasi lonjakan penumpang di tahun-tahun yang akan datang. Bandara ini diproyeksikan akan melayani 23,6 juta kunjungan pada akhir 2024, sedangkan kapasitasnya saat ini hanya mampu menampung hingga 24 juta.
“Ini menambah kapasitas bandara jadi 32 juta kunjungan, ini kami hitung kurang lebih bisa menampung sampai 2031,” kata Handy.
Optimalisasi ini akan dilakukan di terminal domestik dan internasional. Areanya mencakup antara lain ruang tunggu penumpang dan area x-ray.
