Gunung Ibu Erupsi Belasan Kali Hingga Selasa Dini Hari

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Gunung Ibu di Kabupaten Halmahera Barat, Maluku Utara, masih terus-menerus mengalami erupsi. Tercatat sejak Senin (30/9) malam hingga Selasa (1/10) dini hari, Pusat Vulkanologi dan Mitigasi Bencana Geologi (PVMBG) mencatat bahwa sudah sebanyak 16 kali erupsi yang terjadi.
Dilansir dari ANTARA, menurut petugas pos pengamatan Gunung Ibu M. Richard Chaniago erupsi terjadi empat kali pada Senin malam dari pukul 19:35 WIT hingga 23:40 WIT.
Erupsi terbesar yang tercatat pada Senin malam hingga Selasa pagi terjadi secara berurutan pada pukul 21:17 WIT dan 22:51 WIT dengan tinggi kolom abu yang teramati mencapai 1,5 km di atas puncak gunung.
“Erupsi terekam di seismograf dengan amplitudo maksimum 28 mm dan durasi 130 detik,” ujar Richard terkait dengan erupsi yang terjadi pada Senin pukul 22:51 WIT.
Sementara itu, pada Selasa dini hari hingga pagi hari, dari pos pengamatan Gunung Ibu sudah mencatat telah terjadi hingga 12 kali erupsi sejak pukul 01:11 WIT hingga 06:11 WIT.
Durasi 12 kali erupsi pada Selasa dini hari bervariasi antara 32 hingga 99 detik, dengan ketinggian kolom abu antara kurang lebih 300 hingga 800 meter di atas puncak gunung.
Berdasarkan aktivitas terkini Gunung Ibu, maka status gunung yang memiliki ketinggian 1.325 mdpl ini masih berada pada level III atau Siaga.
Oleh karena itu, masyarakat di sekitar gunung beserta wisatawan diimbau untuk tidak beraktivitas di dalam radius 4 km dari pusat erupsi.
Imbauan ini juga berlaku sektoral 5 km ke arah bukaan kawah di bagian utara dari kawah aktif gunung berapi itu.
Selain itu, masyarakat yang beraktivitas di luar rumah disarankan memakai pelindung hidung, masker, dan kacamata jika terjadi hujan abu.
