BNPB: Karawang Masih Berstatus Siaga Darurat Bencana

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Badan Nasional Penanggulangan Bencana (BNPB) menyatakan Kabupaten Karawang, Jawa Barat masih berstatus siaga darurat bencana.

Siaga darurat bencana ini mulai dari banjir, tanah longsor, angin kencang, cuaca ekstrem hingga gelombang laut tinggi.

Status siaga darurat bencana tersebut masih berlaku aktif hingga Mei 2025 oleh Pemerintah Kabupaten Karawang.

"Berlaku dan terhitung sejak 8 November 2024 sampai dengan 31 Mei 2025," kata Kepala Pusat Data, Informasi dan Komunikasi Kebencanaan BNPB Abdul Muhari, Senin (3/3).

Hal ini juga sesuai dengan surat keputusan Bupati Karawang Nomor: 100.3.3.2/Kep.489-Huk/2024.

Adapun status siaga darurat ini tidak hanya mengingatkan kewaspadaan warga terhadap potensi bencana, tetapi juga sebagai syarat administratif guna mempercepat penanganan untuk meringankan dampak bencana yang dirasakan masyarakat.

Dengan adanya status kebencanaan tersebut, maka pemerintah pusat melalui kementerian/lembaga bisa dengan proporsional mempertebal bantuan logistik barang kebutuhan dasar hingga kebutuhan pengungsian ke daerah terdampak bila memang dibutuhkan.

"BNPB bersama pemerintah daerah dan unsur terkait akan terus memantau perkembangan situasi," ujarnya.

Data terbaru yang diterima oleh BNPB dari BPBD Karawang pada Jumat (28/2), dilaporkan sebanyak 1.426 orang warga Kecamatan Teluk Jambe Barat menjadi korban banjir luapan sungai karena tidak mampu membendung tingginya intensitas hujan.

Tercatat ada 245 orang warga korban banjir di Kecamatan Teluk Jambe Barat yang mengungsi, dan sudah dalam penanganan tim petugas gabungan yang memastikan mereka dalam kondisi yang baik.
