Badan Geologi: Gunung Ruang Alami 11 Kali Gempa Vulkanik

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Badan Geologi Kementerian Energi dan Sumber Daya Mineral (ESDM) merekam sebanyak 11 kali gempa vulkanik Gunung Ruang di Pulau Ruang, Kabupaten Kepulauan Sitaro, Sulawesi Utara.
"Pemunculan gempa vulkanik dalam merupakan indikasi adanya suplai magma atau migrasi magma dari kedalaman dalam ke kedalaman dangkal/permukaan," kata Kepala Badan Geologi, Muhammad Wafid AN dalam laporan evaluasi Gunung Ruang periode tanggal 1-15 Februari 2-25 di Manado, Kamis (27/2), dilansir Antara.
Tidak hanya gempa vulkanik, dalam periode tersebut juga terekam sebanyak 27 kali gempa embusan, satu kali gempa vulkanik dangkal, tiga kali gempa tektonik lokal.
Terekam juga sebanyak 81 kali gempa tektonik jauh, gempa terasa satu kali dengan skala II MMI serta satu kali gempa getaran banjir dengan amplitudo 55 milimeter dengan lama gempa 2640 detik.
Pasca erupsi besar yang terjadi pada 17 April dan 30 April 2024, hingga saat ini asap kawah masih teramati, gunung api terlihat jelas hingga tertutup kabut.
Asap kawah utama teramati berwarna putih dengan intensitas tipis-sedang dan tinggi sekitar 50-100 meter dari puncak.
Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi, kegempaan vulkanik Gunung Ruang umumnya cenderung rendah dan lebih didominasi oleh gempa tektonik yang diperkirakan pengaruh dari subduksi Sulawesi Utara dan subduksi ganda di Laut Maluku.
Asap kawah teramati berwarna putih dengan intensitas sedang, tekanan lemah dan kecenderungan tinggi pada kisaran 100-400 meter di atas puncak kawah.
Meski jumlah kegempaan sudah jauh menurun dari bulan April-Mei 2024 dengan jumlah gempa vulkanik pada kisaran 1-3 per hari, tetapi aktivitas Gunung Ruang masih belum kembali normal.
Tingkat aktivitas Gunung Ruang diturunkan dari Level III (siaga) menjadi Level II (waspada) terhitung mulai tanggal 18 Mei 2024 pukul 09.00 WITA.
