BPPTKG Catat Gunung Merapi Luncurkan Guguran Lava 21 Kali, Jarak Luncur Maksimal 1,5 KM

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Gunung Merapi dikabarkan meluncurkan guguran lava sebanyak 21 kali dengan jarak luncur maksimal 1,5 km.
Guguran itu menurut Kepala Balai Penyelidikan dan Pengembangan Teknologi Kebencanaan Geologi (BPPTKG) Yogyakarta Agus Budi Santoso meluncur ke arah Kali Bebeng. Hal tersebut berdasarkan pengamatan pada pukul 00.00 sampai dengan 06.00 WIB.
"Teramati 21 kali guguran lava ke arah barat daya (Kali Bebeng) dengan jarak luncur maksimum 1.500 meter," katanya seperti dilansir Antara.
Selain guguran lava, Gunung Merapi juga mengalmai 40 kali gempa guguran dengan amplitudo 3,21 mm selama 57.56-146.32 detik selama periode pengamatan tersebut. Asap kawah bertekanan lemah juga teramati berwarna putih dengan intensitas tipis dan tinggi 150 meter di atas puncak kawah Merapi.
Agus mengatakan, BPPTKG masih mempertahankan status Gunung Merapi pada Level III atau Siaga. Meskipun morfologi kubah tengah Merapi tidak mengalami perubahan morfologi yang signifikan akibat guguran ini.
"Volume kubah barat daya terukur sebesar 2.777.900 meter kubik dan kubah tengah sebesar 2.366.900 meter kubik," kata Agus.
Lebih lanjut, BPPTKG mengimbau masyarakat agar tidak melakukan kegiatan apa pun di daerah potensi bahaya. Hal itu untuk mengantisipasi dampak berbahaya erupsi Gunung Merapi.
Guguran lava dan awan panas Merapi biasa berdampak ke area dalam sektor selatan-barat daya yang meliputi Sungai Boyong (sejauh maksimal lima kilometer) serta Sungai Bedog, Krasak, dan Bebeng (sejauh maksimal tujuh kilometer).
Pada sektor tenggara meliputi Sungai Woro sejauh maksimal tiga kilometer dan Sungai Gendol lima kilometer. Sedangkan lontaran material vulkanik bila terjadi letusan eksplosif dapat menjangkau radius tiga kilometer dari puncak.
Jika terjadi erupsi eksplosif, ujarnya, maka lontaran material vulkanik dari Gunung Merapi dapat menjangkau area dalam radius tiga kilometer dari puncak gunung.
