KAI Pesan Trainset Tambahan dari China

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - PT Kereta Api Persero membenarkan kabar pemesanan delapan rangkaian kereta (trainset) tambahan dari pabrikan China, CRRC Sifang.
Hal tersebut diungkapkan Direktur Utama Kereta Api (KAI) Didiek Hartantyo saat rapat dengan Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat (DPR), Senin (1/7/2024).
Dikutip dari Antara, impor itu dilakukan karena jumlah trainset yang akan diremajakan oleh PT Industri Kereta Api (Persero) atau INKA berkurang dari rencana awal. Sementara KAI perlu memastikan ketersediaan armada dalam mengantisipasi peningkatan volume penumpang yang diprediksi mencapai 362 juta pada tahun depan.
Dengan pemesanan ini, total 11 rangkaian kereta akan diimpor dari China dan rencananya mulai dikirim ke Indonesia tahun depan.
KAI, melalui anak usahanya PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KCI), sebelumnya menandatangani kerja sama dengan CRRC Sifang untuk pembelian tiga trainset pada akhir Januari 2024. KCI sebelumnya menyebut alasan pemesanan dari China mempertimbangkan harga yang kompetitif dan spesifikasi yang paling sesuai untuk kebutuhan Indonesia.
