SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Badan Meteorologi Klimatologi dan Geofisika mengungkapkan kemungkinan Jakarta akan mengalami intensitas hujan ringan-lebat pada 1-8 Maret 2024.
“Fenomena atmosfer seperti aktivitas gelombang Rossby Ekuatorial di selatan Pulau Jawa bagian barat merupakan salah satu penyebab adanya perubahan intensitas hujan ringan-lebat di Jakarta” ungkap Deputi Bidang Meteorologi BMKG Guswanto, dilansir dari Antara.
BMKG mengungkapkan adanya kemungkinan banjir yang akan melanda wilayah Jakarta yang disebabkan oleh aktivitas Madden Jullian Oscillation (MJO) yang masuk ke wilayah Indonesia bagian barat dan bergerak ke timur.
Selain itu, peningkatan kecepatan angin di wilayah Kepulauan Bangka Belitung dan Selat Karimata membentuk pola perlambatan, pertemuan, dan belokan angin di sekitar Pulau Jawa bagian barat. Hal ini memungkinkan adanya peningkatan intensitas hujan di sekitar Pulau Jawa bagian barat.
Antara melaporkan kawasan yang paling banyak tergenang banjir adalah Jakarta Utara, dengan rincian di kawasan Kelapa Hybrida Timur, Pegangsaan Dua.
Sedangkan BPBD DKI Jakarta mengungkap adanya peningkatan intensitas hujan membuat sejumlah titik tergenang setinggi 10 cm hingga banjir 120 cm.
BMKG mengimbau agar warga sekitar dapat melakukan langkah preventif untuk menghadapi bencana alam yang diperkirakan akan datang akibat peningkatan intensitas hujan tersebut.
