SEAToday.com, Tokyo - Perdana Menteri Jepang Fumio Kishida mengatakan pihaknya “berpacu dengan waktu” untuk mencari dan mengevakuasi korban gempa Senin (1/1).
“Pencarian dan penyelamatan mereka yang terdampak gempa berpacu dengan waktu,” kata Kishida seperti dilansir Reuters.
Seperti diketahui, Jepang diguncang gempa bermagnitudo 7,4 pada Senin (1/1) waktu setempat. Badan Meteorologi Jepang pun sempat mengeluarkan peringatan tsunami dan meminta warga mengevakuasi diri ke tempat yang lebih tinggi.
Pemerintah Jepang telah mengerahkan ribuan personel militer ke beberapa area terdampak. “Kami harus menyelamatkan mereka secepat mungkin, terutama mereka yang terjebak di bawah reruntuhan.
Gempa bumi dahsyat disertai tsunami sama dahsyatnya pernah menimpa Jepang pada 11 Maret 2011. Ketika itusebagian besar garis pantai negara ini hancur dan memaksa matinya reaktor nuklir di Fukushima.
