SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Kasus Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) yang meningkat di China telah menarik perhatian dunia. Merespon hal ini, Kementerian Kesehatan Republik Indonesia (Kemenkes RI) memberikan imbauan kepada masyarakat untuk tetap waspada dan tidak panik.
HMPV yang diketahui dapat menyebabkan infeksi saluran pernapasan memerlukan langkah pencegahan dini guna melindungi masyarakat Indonesia dari risiko penularan.
Juru Bicara Kemenkes RI, drg. Widyawati, MKM, menegaskan pentingnya menjaga pola hidup sehat sebagai bentuk perlindungan diri.
“Saat ini belum ada laporan kasus HMPV di Indonesia. Meski begitu, kami mengimbau agar masyarakat tetap menjaga kesehatan dengan menerapkan perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat. Hal ini penting untuk memperkuat daya tahan tubuh dan mencegah penularan berbagai virus yang berpotensi mengancam kesehatan,” ujar Widyawati dikutip dari situs resmi Kementerian Kesehatan.
Langkah preventif seperti mencuci tangan secara teratur, menggunakan masker di tempat umum, serta memperhatikan kebersihan lingkungan dinilai efektif dalam mengurangi risiko infeksi.
Pemerintah juga meningkatkan pengawasan di pintu-pintu masuk negara dan melakukan pemantauan ketat terhadap pelaku perjalanan internasional yang menunjukkan gejala Influenza Like Illness (ILI).
Meski belum ada vaksin atau pengobatan khusus untuk HMPV, langkah sederhana seperti istirahat yang cukup dan menjaga hidrasi dapat membantu meringankan gejala.
Masyarakat diharapkan memantau informasi resmi dan segera berkonsultasi ke fasilitas kesehatan jika mengalami gejala seperti batuk, pilek, demam, atau sesak napas.
