Musim Panas Terik di Thailand Menimbulkan Risiko Kesehatan yang Signifikan

SEAToday.com, Bangkok-Pada tanggal 7 Maret lalu, Departemen Meteorologi Thailand mengungkapkan bahwa suhu musim panas tahun 2024 akan lebih hangat 1 hingga 2 derajat Celcius dibandingkan dengan rata-rata musim panas sebelumnya di Thailand. Badan ini juga mengungkapkan bahwa suhu yang melebihi 40 derajat Celcius diperkirakan akan terjadi di seluruh wilayah Thailand dari bulan Maret hingga April.
Sementara itu, Departemen Kesehatan Thailand mengatakan bahwa indeks panas diperkirakan akan meningkat di atas 50 derajat Celcius tahun ini. Hal ini dapat menyebabkan berbagai risiko kesehatan dan dapat mengakibatkan kematian.
Anak kecil, orang tua, pekerja di luar ruangan, semua orang yang melakukan aktivitas di luar ruangan dalam waktu yang lama, dan mereka yang memiliki penyakit kronis serta obesitas dihadapkan pada risiko yang lebih besar selama cuaca panas yang ekstrem. Pastikan untuk minum banyak air dan tetap berada di tempat teduh jika Anda harus keluar rumah.
Departemen Meteorologi Thailand mengatakan bahwa suhu musim panas tahun ini akan disertai dengan curah hujan yang lebih rendah dari rata-rata. Tahun lalu, bulan terpanas di bulan April mencapai suhu 40 derajat Celcius di sebagian besar wilayah Thailand. (ANDIN/REZA)
