BMKG Peringati Potensi Banjir Besar Jakarta 2020 Terulang Kembali
SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi, dan Geofisika (BMKG) mengungkap potensi bencana banjir Jakarta pada 2020 terulang imbas pergerakan seruak udara dingin dari dataran tinggi Siberia.
Kepala BMKG Dwikorita Karnawati dalam Raker Kesiapan Nataru dengan Komisi V DPR RI, Rabu (4/12) mengatakan, pihaknya mendeteksi adanya potensi masuknya seruak udara dingin dari dataran tinggi Siberia. Diperkirakan, Desember seruak udara dingin tersebut bergerak mengarah ke wilayah Indonesia.
Lebih lanjut, Dwikorita menjelaskan seruak dingin tersebut menyebabkan terjadinya angin kencang, gelombang tinggi, dan peningkatan curah hujan. Ia menilai kecepatan angin dan peningkatan gelombang tinggi ini akan terjadi terutama di Laut Natuna. Menurutnya, skenario terburuk seruak dingin di wilayah barat Indonesia dapat menyebabkan banjir parah yang sebelumnya menerjang Jakarta pada 2020 lalu.
