Thailand dan Tiongkok Akan Saling Membebaskan Visa Mulai Maret

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Thailand dan Tiongkok akan membebaskan persyaratan visa bagi warga negara masing-masing secara permanen mulai Maret, sebut Perdana Menteri Thailand Srettha Thavisin, Selasa (2/1).

Kementerian Luar Negeri Tiongkok juga menekankan bahwa kedua negara berkomitmen untuk mendorong pertukaran antar warga dengan saling membebaskan persyaratan visa. Keputusan ini diambil setelah Thailand memperkenalkan pembebasan visa sementara untuk turis Tiongkok yang berlaku hingga Februari ini.

Selain untuk meningkatkan hubungan kedua negara, keputusan ini juga diharapkan meningkatkan pariwisata antar kedua negara dan mempercepat pemulihan pasca pandemi.

Perekonomian Thailand sangat bergantung pada pariwisata. Pada tahun 2023, Thailand menyambut sekitar 28 juta wisatawan asing, dengan Malaysia sebagai negara asal utama, diikuti oleh Tiongkok.
