Puma Akhiri Kesepakatan Sponsor dengan Tim Sepak Bola Nasional Israel
SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Merek pakaian olahraga ternama PUMA mengumumkan penghentian kesepakatan sponsor dengan Asosiasi Sepakbola Israel (IFA) pada tahun 2024 mendatang, Selasa (12/12).
Belakangan ini, PUMA mendapat kecaman dari gerakan pro-Palestina yang menganggap merek tersebut mendukung pendudukan ilegal Israel di West Bank melalui kesepakatan mereka dengan IFA. Namun, PUMA bersikeras bahwa "keputusan tersebut semata-mata didasarkan pada alasan bisnis", dan menyebutnya sebagai bagian dari strategi baru sponsor mereka yang "lebih sedikit-lebih besar-lebih baik".
Terlepas dari pernyataan tersebut, keputusan mereka tetap disambut sebagai kemenangan bagi perjuangan Palestina, berdasarkan perkataan dari gerakan Boikot, Divestasi, dan Sanksi (BDS).
