64 Meninggal, Ratusan Terluka akibat Topan Super Yagi Melanda Vietnam

SEAToday.com, Hanoi - Jumlah korban meninggal di Vietnam meningkat menjadi sedikitnya 64 orang, Senin (9/9), sementara ratusan orang lainnya terluka akibat topan super Yagi yang melanda dan menyebabkan banjir serta tanah longsor.
Media pemerintah melaporkan sembilan orang tewas, Sabtu (7/9) akibat longsor yang disebabkan oleh badai tersebut sebelum melemah menjadi depresi tropis. Sisanya meninggal dalam banjir dan longsor yang terjadi pada hari Minggu dan Senin.
Ketinggian air sejumlah sungai di Vietnam utara juga “sangat tinggi”. Sebuah bus terseret ke aliran sungai yang meluap akibat longsor di provinsi pegunungan Cao Bang pada Senin. Sementara satu jembatan di atas Sungai Merah di Phu Tho runtuh pada hari yang sama, membawa jatuh sejumlah mobil, truk, dan sepeda motor.
Topan ini juga menyebabkan kerusakan pabrik-pabrik di provinsi Haiphong dan Quang Ninh, dengan perkiraan awal yang mempengaruhi hampir 100 perusahaan, mengakibatkan kerugian jutaan dolar. Perdana Menteri Pham Minh Chinh telah menyetujui bantuan 4,62 juta dolar AS untuk membantu pemulihan kota pelabuhan tersebut.
Sebagian besar korban tewas akibat tanah longsor dan banjir bandang, ungkap laporan tersebut, dan menambahkan bahwa 752 orang terluka.
Yagi, topan paling kuat yang menghantam Vietnam utara dalam 30 tahun terakhir, meruntuhkan jembatan-jembatan, menerbangkan atap-atap bangunan dan merusak banyak pabrik setelah menghantam daratan pada hari Sabtu dengan kecepatan angin lebih dari 149 km/jam.
