Thailand Perpanjang Bebas Visa dan Izin Tinggal Lebih Lama bagi Wisatawan
SEAToday.com, Bangkok-Kabinet Thailand menyetujui beberapa kebijakan pemfasilitasan visa, seperti pembebasan visa untuk beberapa negara dan perpanjangan masa tinggal bagi wisatawan asing, pekerja jarak jauh, dan mahasiswa pascasarjana, Selasa (28/5).
Juru bicara pemerintah Thailand Chai Wacharonke menyampaikan, Thailand akan mengizinkan pengunjung dari 93 negara dan kawasan untuk masuk tanpa persyaratan visa dengan masa tinggal hingga 60 hari. Kebijakan ini akan diberlakukan mulai Juni mendatang.
Wacharonke juga mengatakan jika pengunjung yang memenuhi syarat untuk mendapatkan visa kunjungan saat kedatangan (Visa on Arrival) juga akan bertambah menjadi 31 negara dan kawasan.
Masa berlaku visa untuk turis digital (digital nomad) yang ingin tinggal di Thailand dalam jangka panjang dan bekerja dari jarak jauh akan diperpanjang menjadi lima tahun. Visa tersebut akan disertai dengan izin tinggal masing-masing selama hingga 180 hari.
Kebijakan-kebijakan tersebut dibuat sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan sektor penting pariwisata Thailand di tengah perekonomian yang melemah.
