The Fifth Presidential Candidate Debate for 2024 Election: Anies Mentioned that the Indonesian Nation Has Been Far from the Initial Ideals
SEAToday.com, Jakarta-Presidential Candidate Number 1 Anies Baswedan said that the Indonesian Nation has been far from its initial ideals. According to Anies, this can be seen from the many inequalities between Jakarta and Java with regions outside it.
"The biggest problem of our nation today, our republic today is inequality, inequality, injustice. Inequality between Jakarta and outside Jakarta. Java, outside Java," said Anies in the Fifth Presidential Candidate Debate for the 2024 Election, Sunday (2/4).
"Rich, poor. Village, city. General education, Religious education. Vocational education, and Technical education. These are all inequalities that today are a dangerous phenomenon for this republic," he added.
In the economy, Anies added, only some people control the Indonesian economy. Whereas when it was founded, Anies emphasized, the Republic of Indonesia existed for all circles.
"When this republic was founded, the founders were 60 members of BPUPKI, they were educated people, they were privileged people, but they founded the republic for all," Anies said.
"They did not establish the republic for the interests of themselves, their groups, or their families. They established this for all. Power is built to provide opportunities to all. Now we are far from the ideals of this republic," he said.
