Lima Gunung Api di Sulut Berstatus Waspada, Warga Diminta Tetap Siaga

SEAToday.com, Manado - Lima dari delapan gunung api di Sulawesi Utara saat ini berstatus Level II atau Waspada, menurut Balai Pemantauan Gunung Api dan Mitigasi Bencana Gerakan Tanah Sulawesi dan Maluku, Kementerian Energi dan Sumber Daya Mineral (ESDM).
Kepala Balai, Juliana DJ Rumambi, mengungkapkan bahwa gunung yang berstatus Waspada adalah Gunung Awu di Kabupaten Kepulauan Sangihe, Gunung Karangetang dan Gunung Ruang di Kabupaten Kepulauan Siau-Tagulandang-Biaro (Sitaro), serta Gunung Lokon di Kota Tomohon dan Gunung Soputan di Kabupaten Minahasa Tenggara. Sementara itu, tiga gunung lainnya, yakni Gunung Tangkoko di Kota Bitung, Gunung Mahawu di Kota Tomohon, dan Gunung Ambang di Kabupaten Bolaang Mongondow, masih berstatus Normal atau Level I.
Juliana mengimbau warga dan wisatawan untuk tetap mematuhi radius bahaya yang telah ditetapkan oleh Pusat Vulkanologi dan Mitigasi Bencana Geologi (PVMBG) guna menghindari potensi risiko akibat aktivitas vulkanik.
Sebagai contoh, untuk Gunung Soputan di Kabupaten Minahasa Tenggara, masyarakat diminta tidak beraktivitas dalam radius 1,5 kilometer dari puncak serta dalam wilayah sektor barat-barat daya sejauh 2,5 kilometer yang merupakan daerah bukaan kawah. Langkah ini untuk mengantisipasi ancaman leleran lava dan awan panas guguran.
Selain itu, masyarakat juga diingatkan untuk mewaspadai potensi aliran lahar di sungai-sungai yang berhulu di sekitar lereng Gunung Soputan, seperti Sungai Ranowangko, Sungai Lawian, Sungai Popang, dan Sungai Londola Kelewahu.
"Jika terjadi hujan abu, warga disarankan menggunakan masker untuk melindungi saluran pernapasan," tambah Juliana.
