SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Amil Zakat National Agency (BAZNAS), in collaboration with the Egyptian humanitarian organization Sunah Al Hayyah, has distributed 11,000 aid packages containing basic necessities to Palestinian refugees in Egypt.

The packages, containing flour, rice, macaroni, and other food items, were distributed over two days starting from Saturday (12/7) to several locations in Egypt.

BAZNAS Chairman Noor Achmad said on Monday (12/9) that this collaboration aims to facilitate the distribution of aid to the Palestinian people. Noor also emphasized that the aid is a concrete manifestation of the spirit of Zakat for humanity, which is very beneficial for those in need.

He hoped that the aid can alleviate the burden of the refugees and send a message to the world that Muslims, especially Indonesians, will always stand with Palestine in fighting for human rights.

Furthermore, Noor said that they are preparing another 12,000 similar aid packages to be sent to Gaza while waiting for the Rafah crossing to open.
