SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The Indonesian government has set the budget for the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Program at IDR 10,000 per child per day. This was announced directly by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto after a closed meeting on Friday (11/29).

“This nutritious meal program will have a minimum average index per child, per pregnant woman, of IDR 10,000 per day,” said the president.

He also explained that the figure is a result of budget adjustments that are considered possible at this time, where previously the government had planned a figure of IDR 15,000. But even so, the president ensured that with this budget, the food available would still be of high quality and nutritious.

The program aims to address malnutrition and improve the health of children and pregnant women across Indonesia, particularly in underprivileged and remote areas. By providing balanced, nutritious meals, the government hopes to reduce stunting rates and foster better development outcomes, ensuring a healthier future generation.
