Multiple Accidents on Cipularang Toll Road KM 92 Damaging Numerous Vehicles
SEAToday.com, Purwakarta - A multiple-vehicle collision occurred at kilometer 92 of the Cipularang Toll Road on the Jakarta-bound lane from Bandung, specifically in the Sukatani district of Purwakarta Regency, West Java. The accident involved more than 10 vehicles and was reported to have occurred around 3:20 PM local time.
Various social media posts show videos of numerous vehicles involved in the accident, including private cars, trucks, and even a container. The collision occurred when the KM 92 area was hit by heavy rain and lightning. Head of West Java Police Public Relations Kombes Pol Jules Abraham Abast said the accident was suspected to have been caused by a truck with brake failure.
"The truck, which was carrying a heavy load, experienced brake failure. As a result, it collided with the vehicle in front, triggering a chain reaction of collisions with other vehicles," he said.
There is yet information about casualties or injuries due to this accident. A total of 10 authorities have been deployed to the scene to handle the aftermath of the accident.
