Universitas Muhammadiyah Maumere Perbolehkan Mahasiswa Bayar Uang Kuliah Pakai Hasil Bumi

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Universitas Muhammadiyah Maumere, salah satu kampus Muhammadiyah yang terletak di Sikka, Nusa Tenggara Timur, memperbolehkan mahasiswa yang kesulitan ekonomi untuk membayar uang kuliah menggunakan hasil bumi. Rektor Universitas Muhammadiyah Maumere Erwin Prasetyo mengaku telah mengeluarkan kebijakan tersebut sejak 2018, saat statusnya masih berbentuk IKIP Muhammadiyah Maumere.

 

Mahasiswa yang berasal dari keluarga kurang mampu bisa membayar uang kuliah menggunakan kelapa, kemiri, pisang, singkong, cengkeh, cokelat, dan hasil laut. Hal ini merupakan upaya untuk meringankan biaya kuliah mahasiswa.

 

Selain mengandalkan hasil bumi, sejumlah mahasiswa juga memiliki kesempatan untuk mendapatkan beasiswa dari lembaga zakat yang dikelola Muhammadiyah. (DHITA/ DKD)
