SEAToday.com, Bangkok - Indonesia won the overall title at the 31st Annual ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet (AARM) in Bangkok from November 16-25. The competition was attended by 200 shooters from 10 countries in Southeast Asia. The competitive events are rifle, carbine, automatic rifle, men's pistol and women's pistol.

Indonesia secured four trophies (three individual and one overall), ten gold medals, nine silver medals and ten bronze medals. The ten gold medals came from three gold medals in the individual competition, four gold medals in the team competition and three gold medals in the team exhibition. Overall, Indonesia has proven itself as the hegemony among ASEAN countries by becoming the overall champion 14 times out of a total of 31 AARM events since 1991.

Furthermore, Indonesian Armed Forces Commander General Agus Subiyanto hopes that this achievement can inspire the younger generation and other soldiers (@tni_angkatan_darat) to be able to excel in other international events.
