President Joko Widodo Attends Commemoration of 78th Anniversary of Indonesian Teachers Association, National Teachers Day 2023
SEAToday.com, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo attended the commemoration of the 78th anniversary of the Indonesian Teachers' Association (PGRI) and the National Teachers' Day held at the Britama Arena, North Jakarta, on Saturday (11/25). During the event, President Jokowi was accompanied by Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology Nadiem Makarim, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, Act. Governor of Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono.
In his speech, President Jokowi recognized the role of Indonesian teachers for their dedication and contribution to educating Indonesia's youth generation. In addition, President Jokowi also mentioned the results of the RAND Corporation research (2022), in which teaching is a profession that has a higher stress level than other professions.
Furthermore, the President explained three factors that cause teachers to experience stress, namely student behavior, curriculum changes, and technological developments. Therefore, President Jokowi reminded Minister Nadiem to be more cautious about curriculum changes.
