Lake Toba Listed in the New York Times, 52 Places to Go in 2024
SEAToday.com, North Sumatra - Lake Toba, North Sumatra, was included in the list of tourist destinations recommended by the New York Times in “52 Places to Go in 2024” on Wednesday (1/10). In the list, Lake Toba, Indonesia is ranked 24th, along with several other popular destinations in the world, ranging from Maui, Hawaii to Geneva, Switzerland.
The lake, which is surrounded by eight regencies in North Sumatra, is one of the super priority destinations set by Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. The tourist icon of North Sumatra was chosen for its splendor and uniqueness.
Meanwhile, destinations from neighboring countries in Southeast Asia that also made the list are Singapore at number seven and Koh Ker, Cambodia at number 34. The dozens of destination lists were compiled by experts in sustainable travel and cultural events.
